Responsible Tourism

Environmental awareness via Responsible Tourism.

In order to fulfill our responsibilities towards society and the environment, it is crucial for every individual to be aware and conscious. Our business’s existence is intricately connected to the preservation of the natural environment. We encourage you to capture memories while leaving minimal impact behind. The dedicated team at Everest Mountain Expedition Nepal takes responsibility to ensure that your trip aligns with the principles of ecological sustainability and cultural preservation. We hope that your presence will inspire our society to learn and grow. Prior to embarking on our tour, our guide will provide a briefing on the importance of environmental conservation as part of our commitment to responsible tourism.

We actively participate in raising awareness and maintaining a clean and healthy living environment. Our goal is to mitigate the greenhouse effect and prevent ozone layer depletion through a balanced ecosystem. We aim to learn from the past and pass on this awareness to future generations. By minimizing the negative impact of our groups, we are changing our perception and fostering environmental consciousness. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly as we are always available to assist you.

Say no Prostitution, no Drugs
At Everest Mountain Expedition Nepal, we uphold values of honesty and simplicity. We strongly discourage our clients from engaging in activities involving prostitution during their travels. We view the exploitation of women and children in brothels as a grave violation of human rights, and we actively support various social organizations in their efforts to combat this crime. We have observed how drug problems and sexually transmitted diseases have adversely affected the lives of many young individuals. We kindly request our guests to stay on the safe side and avoid involvement with illegal drugs. Any member of the group found disobeying this policy may be expelled by the group leader. The presence of drugs within the group can have detrimental effects on the entire group. While the use of marijuana and opium may be culturally accepted in certain parts of the world, we, at Everest Mountain Expedition Nepal, firmly reject engaging in such activities. Please join us in making Nepal a drug-free country and promoting the overall well-being of individuals affected by drug addiction worldwide.

Are Donations & Gifts always accessible?
EMEN advises against giving money, pens, or sweets directly to the local people in the communities you visit. This type of action may inadvertently foster a culture of dependency and begging. It can create an unhealthy competition between tourists and locals, with people expecting gifts and handouts. If you wish to make a donation to the community, we recommend channeling it through social projects and EMEN. You can distribute pens, pencils, sweets, notebooks, and other essential items with the assistance of a school teacher or community leader. This way, the donation will have a meaningful impact, and the community leader will be happy to help with the distribution. Additionally, it is customary to make a small donation in the donation box at the end of a visit to a pagoda, monastery, or temple.
Reciprocal Tourism
Everest Mountain Expedition Nepal has developed a philosophy about tourism, as tourism is a two-way means of communication. After the completion of your trip, you will be expected to have some knowledge and experiences from our community and our community also expects the same. You have invested your adorable time and plenty of money for this trip. Therefore, we want to learn and teach each other about culture and some social aspects. You have helped to foster the economy of Host County and you will probably be more aware of the environmental, social, political, and cultural problems that some local communities face. EMEN  wants to enlarge its cultural identity, develop sustainable resources, and improve social justice situations, as we are a developing country. Money is not everything, you can do some direct help via Various NGOs and INGOs.
