Rapid Everest Base Camp Trek – 10 Days Overview

The short trek package of the Rapid Everest Base Camp offers a limited experience of an in-flight experience for hikers and a great interest in conquering Everest base camp (5,364 m / 17,600 ft). This trekking route to Mount Everest is over 3,000 meters high and has no adaptation to the environment to experience the mighty Everest without having to take risks. After a 35-minute flight from Kathmandu, trekking starts from Lukla (2,642 m / 8,668 ft), which is the gateway to the Khumbu region. Then the trails pass through the farmlands and the village of Sherpa. Then enter the Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and reach the Namche Bazaar (3,440m / 11,287ft). The forest vegetation became alpine shrubs and the landscape of the last village of Gorak Shep became more dramatic. Then, you will walk along the Khumbu glacier to the Everest base camp (5,364m / 17,600m) in front of the horrible icefall. The early ascent of Kala Patthar (5,550 m / 18,210 ft) behind the village offers the most exquisite 360 degree panoramic view of Mount Everest (8,848 m / 29,028 ft) and other peaks.

Returning the same route is relatively faster and easier. You can hike almost all year round, but at the spring and Autumn Festival there are more hikers along this popular route. Our 10-day trekking package at Everest base camp includes a permit, your guide, local porters, air and land transportation, mountain lodging, dining and drinking water.

Can I be a good trekker?

As you know Rapid Everest Base Camp is short ,suit and cozy trek  for passionate walkers who have the ability to walk at least 5-6 hours a day with a light rucksack.at least the trekker need to be prepared physically and mentally as you might even need to walk 8 to 9 hours each day. Walking in higher altitude is more physically demanding than walking in the lower altitudes; however, if we have good health with average physical fitness, positive attitude, self-confidence and strong determination, we can accomplish the trek successfully and create the lifetime experiences . It will be better to have exercised and jogging regularly before embark on the trek to enhance our strength and stability. Past hiking experience is preferred but no technical skill is required. It is important that we consult with our doctor before booking this trek. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood disease should inform Himalayan Adventure Nepal before booking the trek.

We transfers you Domestic Airport Kathmandu Nepal in early morning for the Trans Himalayan flight and dramatic landing at Lukla: gateway to the Khumbu/Everest region. The trail then, follows the Dudh Khosi Valley before ascending to Ghat and Phakding. Overnight Phakding Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

The exciting and effective trail meanders through pine forest, crossing suspension bridges and several Sherpa villages to Jorsale: entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park and permit checkpoint which is main place for wildlife and bird watching at Nepal.  Afterward the reputed mountain with adventure Thamserku (6,618m/21,714m) glistens above the village. Continue to the confluence of the Bhote and Dudh Khosi Rivers then climb steadily via the high Tenzing- Hilary suspension bridge with inspiring glimpses of Everest and the Nuptse – Lhotse ridge. A final three hour forest ascent leads to the administrative town of Namche Bazaar which was door of the Sherpa people for business culture and whole Sherpa civilization. Overnight Namche Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

You will climb the hills and contours around the hillside, offering great views of Himalayan landscape and mountain. Look out for spotted deer, Himalayan Thars and birds – including the colorful (male) Danphe pheasant (Nepal’s national bird). At Sanasa the trail forks to Gokyo or Everest BC. Turn right and descend to cross the Dudh Khosi (past water driven prayer wheels) near Phunki Thenga (3,250m/10,663ft), the lowest point north of Namche Bazaar. It enters the Imja Khola Valley and rises, through dwarf conifers and rhododendron forest, for a two hour pull, to the hilltop village of Tengboche. Their famous Gompa is set against the backdrop of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Everest and other peaks. At full moon in October/November they hold the colorful Mani Rimdu festival with masked dancing and Tibetan Opera in the courtyard. Visit the monastery during the afternoon and accumulate the real aura of the Buddhism. Overnight Tenboche Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

This is very adventurous and excited day as you descend to Debuche: a scattered stone village with a nunnery, chortens and long mani wall. Cross the Imja Khola and ascend to Pangboche with closer views of towering Ama Dablam (6,856m/22,495ft). The trail then follows the river as it rises to its confluence with the Lobuche Khola and continues up to Dingboche: the last year-round Sherpa settlement where you can study the real life culture of the Sherpa people. After an early lunch, set out on the feint trail to the world’s highest Base Camp, on the Khumbu Glacier: opposite the dreaded icefall – the most dangerous section of an Everest ascent. In April/May the trail is busy with porters they will be carrying the various loads of supplies and the site is a riot of colorful tents perched on the dirty ice. For the rest of the year it is a bleak and lonely place set below the impressive ice walls (and avalanches) of the Mahalangur Himal along the Tibetan border. From west to east, the main peaks are Pumori, Lingtren, Khumbutse and Nuptse. Everest and the Cwm are hidden behind walls. Overnight at Gorak shep Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Plus Cho Oyo (8,201m/26,907ft) in the west and Ama Dablam to the south: amidst countless other peaks that crowd the horizon in all directions. Drop back to Gorak Shep for breakfast; then retrace your steps to Lobuche. Return to the snout of the Khumbu glacier, dropping down the moraine and continuing on to the village of Pheriche for a lower and warmer night. Overnight Pheriche Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

  • The ideal seasons are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) when the weather is stable and views are clear.
