The Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the most popular and challenging treks in the world. It takes you to the base camp of Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world, standing at an impressive height of 8,848 meters (29,029 feet). The trek is located in the Sagarmatha National Park in Nepal and offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan mountain range. The trek usually begins in Lukla, a small town with an airport that serves as the starting point for most trekkers. From Lukla, the trail follows the Dudh Kosi River through picturesque Sherpa villages, dense forests, and suspension bridges. As you ascend higher, the landscape changes, and you enter the alpine zone with sparse vegetation.
The trek passes through several iconic landmarks and villages, including Namche Bazaar, the unofficial capital of the Khumbu region. Namche Bazaar is a bustling market town where trekkers can rest, acclimatize, and explore the local Sherpa culture. You can visit monasteries, museums, and enjoy panoramic views of Everest and other peaks from the surrounding viewpoints. Continuing the trek, you’ll pass through Tengboche, known for its famous Buddhist monastery. The monastery offers a serene atmosphere and provides an opportunity to witness the religious practices of the Sherpa community. As you reach higher altitudes, you may experience the effects of altitude sickness, so it’s important to acclimatize properly and listen to your guide’s advice.
The final stretch of the trek takes you to Everest Base Camp, located at an altitude of 5,364 meters (17,598 feet). This is the starting point for mountaineers attempting to summit Mount Everest. The base camp provides stunning views of the Khumbu Icefall and the surrounding peaks. However, it’s important to note that you cannot see the summit of Everest from the base camp itself. After spending some time at Everest Base Camp, trekkers make their way back along the same route, gradually descending to Lukla. The entire trek takes around 12-14 days, depending on the pace and acclimatization schedule. The best time to undertake the Everest Base Camp Trek is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons when the weather is generally stable. It’s worth mentioning that the Everest Base Camp Trek is a physically demanding trek and requires a good level of fitness. It’s essential to be prepared with proper trekking gear, including sturdy boots, warm clothing, and a reliable backpack. Hiring a guide or joining a guided tour is highly recommended to ensure safety, navigation, and cultural insights during the journey.
Overall, the Everest Base Camp Trek is a remarkable adventure that offers an unforgettable experience, stunning landscapes, and a glimpse into the Sherpa culture while being in the presence of the world’s highest mountain.

Meals
On our trek, we can enjoy authentic Nepalese cuisine and the most common international cuisine (Tibet, continent, Italy, India, etc.). Breakfast and dinner will be served at the tea house or the house menu, where we will spend the night and lunch will be served on the way to the next destination. All meals will be served during the trek and at Kathmandu, only breakfast will be served. The hotel will also offer a welcome and farewell dinner for the guest.
Is it possible for me?
Everest Base Camp Trek is a difficult trek but it is highly demanding and suitable for passionate walkers who have the ability to walk at least 5-6 hours a day with a light rucksack.at least the trekker needs to be prepared physically and mentally as you might even need to walk 8 to 9 hours each day. Walking in higher altitudes is more physically demanding than walking in lower altitudes; however, if we have good health with average physical fitness, positive attitude, self-confidence and strong determination, we can accomplish the trek successfully. It will be better to have exercised and jogging regularly before embarking on the trek to enhance our strength and stability. Past hiking experience is preferred but no technical skill is required. It is important that we consult with our doctor before booking this trek. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood disease should inform EMEN before booking the trek.

My trip with EMEN to Everest base camp trek from Lukla to Mount Everest Base camp and then to Kalapattar at about 5546 metres. The trek was pretty challenging. It was spanning for about 13 days (1.e from April 3rd to April 15th 2017 (Both days included). Flew from Kathmandu to Lukla via Agni Air. As usual, the flight was delayed by a couple of hours and added to that we were stuck in an air bubble and the flight staggered a bit (It was fun to have a roller coaster ride close to the Himalayas). I landed in Lukla and with the help of a guide we started our trek after a cup of tea in a nearby Tea house. My first stop was Phakding about 3 hrs trek from Lukla and it was at 2620 meters. The trek was very scenic, but the path was tough. We stayed overnight at Phakding and then proceeded to Namche Bazaar, which is close to 3400 mts, This trek took me about 7 hrs and was quite challenging as I encountered heavy snow showers and the path was pretty slippery. Reached Namche Bazaar at 4 pm and had a cup of tea and stayed there for a couple of days (purpose of acclimatization), then proceed further to Phortse, Periche ….. and Gorakshop, before reaching Kalapattar.

If I try to assess the excellence of EMEN service, all my vocabulary will be failed. This company and its every member wear the feeling of humility and mutuality. They go out of their way when the time needs them in order to ensure that the journey is a safe, comfortable and informative one. I was a bit confident of myself when I first decided to travel alone. Now I laughed at myself for not realizing the value of a collective journey in justifying the meaning of one’s trip. As a bus is unable to make a move without a driver to guide it, direct it and take it to its destination, Everest Mountain Expedition Nepal is also a service driver who makes sure traveler will not worry much of their comfortable stay, informs them comprehensively and show around the places worth visiting. I did not worry about anything for Everest Mountain Expedition Nepal was there to back me up when things went wrong with me. Thus, if any of you are struggling to find a reliable driver to drive your trek perfectly, make sure you book with Mountain Expedition Nepal for they will grant you all Nepal has in its store.

The diversity of the Himalayan Mountains as its ‘Divinity’
The trekking, as one of the adventurous activities, has always been an exceptional specialty of Nepal. Once, I too had a chance to be a part of it. Ever since my return from Nepal in May, the magnitude of its flora and fauna has spellbound me. The magical fascination of life has still been arresting the air of tranquility I ever experienced time in the mountains. What adds more to this innocent nostalgia is the quality moments I spent with Ram as our guide.
Like many people who have still not had the divine feeling of mountains, I was too impatient to engulf myself in the fantastic lap of the natural beauty of the Himalayan Mountains. Unquestionably, I felt insanely lost in the heavenly panorama of the mountains that were standing in the queue with its roof as if it was guarding the world. What was even more memorable is the fact that the local folks were at their best humanity. From the moment we landed at the airport, Everest Mountain Expedition Nepal has welcome with Nepali hospitality captured our innermost heart. Though our status was ‘visitor’, time was no moment when we were made to feel a bit of it but, we befriended like old childhood. Bhatta, our guide, was so kind enough to equip us up with all the essential information. His dedication and passionate feelings towards us as well as his practical knowledge of political situations and the potential future of his country was incredible. His self-motivated and well-informed personality was a massive profit for us to make the journey more cheerful as well as informative. During the course of the trek, we spotted the hard-working porters carrying their loads that weigh heavier than their own. The resilience of the people with the spirit of the sturdy and firmness to adjust with the diverse weather conditions was more like the Himalayan Mountains themselves. On the day of our departure, Kiran generously came down to receive us at the airport in spite of not having sound sleep for he was helping friends prepare the night before. I felt envied by him dedication at his duty and the generosity towards the fellows. Hence, such diversity of its people, their life in relation to the pied beauty of the Himalayan Mountains gives one the feeling no less than that of divinity.
After witnessing a range of these distinct experiences, even if there was someone else in my place,, one could not resist themselves from praying, “Almighty! This country is an unexplored paradise with wonderful people. May lord bless this country with the capable leaders who love the people and uplift the country to the highest peak of the Mountains?” God bless Nepal! God bless MEN.
