The trek begins in Nayapul, a small town near Pokhara, and follows a well-established trail through the picturesque villages of Ghandruk, Chhomrong, and Bamboo. As you ascend higher, the terrain changes, and you’ll encounter rhododendron forests, cascading waterfalls, and terraced farmlands. The route offers a wonderful opportunity to experience the unique blend of natural beauty, cultural encounters, and Himalayan grandeur.

The ultimate goal of the Annapurna Base Camp Trek is to reach the Annapurna Base Camp, which is nestled at an altitude of 4,130 meters (13,549 feet). The base camp provides a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding peaks, including Annapurna I (8,091 meters) and Machapuchare (6,993 meters). It’s an extraordinary sight that leaves trekkers in awe of the majestic Himalayan range.

Throughout the trek, you’ll pass through tea houses and lodges, offering comfortable accommodations and local meals. You’ll have the opportunity to interact with the warm and friendly locals, primarily the Gurung and Magar communities, who have a rich cultural heritage. Their traditional way of life, architecture, and hospitality add a unique charm to the trekking experience. The Annapurna Base Camp Trek typically takes around 7 to 12 days, depending on the chosen itinerary and trekking pace. The best time to embark on this adventure is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons when the weather is generally clear, and the views are stunning.

This is a two-story square pagoda temple built on a single-storey pedestal that is famous throughout the world. Boudhanath Stupa: Boudhananath is one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in Kathmandu. It was built in the 5th century AD and has four pairs of Buddha eyes in four main directions, maintaining an eternal vigilance of people and their actions. You will find Buddhist pilgrims from Tibet turning the prayer wheel around the pagoda. Bhaktapur Durbar Square: Visit Bhaktapur Durbar, Bhupatindra Malla real residential area, five-story name of the Nyatapola temple, pagoda-style palace in Batsala Temple, Bhairavnath, Duttatraya temple, Pujari Muth and 55 windows. We can explore the rest of Kathmandu for free and take a last minute shopping trip in the Thamel area for hiking. Overnight at a hotel. Breakfast included.

Our hiking staff will pick you up from the hotel at 6:30 in the morning and accompany you to the tourist bus stop. The bus to Pokhara leaves around 7:30 in the morning. Pokhara is a beautiful valley Phewa Lake, with its Annapurna and Machapuchare north (shape of fish tail), Lamjung Himal Dhaulagiri and the east and west of the famous panoramic Manaslu. It is smaller and less busy than Kathmandu, so it provides the perfect starting point for our hiking trip. We will spend the night at the hotel. Breakfast included

After an hour of driving in a private car in Pokhara, we started walking in Nayapul. After 15 minutes on foot along the Modi Khola River, we arrive at Birethanti (1,015 meters), which is one of many shops and tea houses of the large village. From there, the trail continues through the village, along the north coast of Bhurungdi Khola. This road climbed steadily to the side of the valley to reach Hille, 1495 meters. After a short climb, we reached Tikhedhunga at 1,570 meters above sea level. Today’s walk is relatively short and is a prelude to the hiking experience in the Annapurna area. Stay overnight at the hotel. Includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Continue to Ulleri, a large village of Magar at an altitude of 2,070 meters. From this point, the climbing path through the high quality oak and azalea forest towards Banthanti at 22 km is more moderate. Then we walk towards Nangethanti at 2,460 meters. After an hour’s walk, we arrive at Ghorepani (2,840 meters). Stay overnight at the hotel. Includes breakfast, lunch and dinner

Early in the morning, we start a one-hour walk to Poon Hill, 3,210 meters above sea level, this is a spectacular mountain spectacle; This view offers an unobstructed view of the high sunrise Himalayas. We spent about an hour back to Ghorepani and had a hot breakfast. Then we climb along the ridge, through the pine and azalea forests, to Deurali (2,960 meters). After that, we went down to Banthanti and then we closed Tadapani. Stay overnight at the hotel. Includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The day starts with a steep downhill through rhododendron forests. Leaving Tadapani, we descend through the forests and then the trail eases as we reach Gurjung which is the village of Gurung people. From here it is an easy walk to Chomrong at an elevation of 2,140 m. Overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Today the trail drops down to the Chomrong Khola and again we continue climbing to Khuldighar at 2,380 m where there used to be an ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area) check post. There is a clearing in the forest a little further on, from which, the route travels very steeply down a rock bank, then levels out, running through thickets of bamboo at the bottom of the gorge, keeping always on the west side of the river. We walk through bamboo and rhododendron forests to the Himalayan Hotel. Overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Today the trail climbs on past the Hinko Cave, Deurali and then Machapuchare Base Camp, which isn’t really a base camp since climbing Mt Machapuchare is not permitted. Since it is totally surrounded by mountains, this area is known as the Annapurna Sanctuary. Two hours trek from Machapuchare Base Camp takes us to the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) at elevation of 4,130 m. There, we will view unobstructed views of mountain scenery, which is very spectacular. Overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

We follow the same trail down today. The trail drops by 1,700 m to the bank of Modi Khola to Bamboo at 2,345 m where there are a few teahouse/lodges available to stay at. Overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

We follow the same trail until Chomrong. Once we have passed Khuldighar, there is an experimental sheep farm. The trail continues through rhododendron and bamboo fields. From Chomrong, the trail descends very steeply to the Jhinu, where we can bath in natural hot springs. Overnight at a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

From Jhinu we walk at the right side of Modi Khola for 4.5 hrs to Birethanti which can be considered one of the best and the most relaxing walks of the entire trek. We reach Nayapul. Then an hour drive will take us back to Pokhara. After we check into the hotel, we will then walk to the Fewa Lake for our boating trip to Barahi Temple. Overnight at a hotel. Breakfast and lunch included.

We will be driving back to Kathmandu in the morning. If you are interested in extending the trip, there are many options such as Chitwan jungle safari, river rafting adventure, Kathmandu shopping tour, mountain biking and other activities. In the evening we will have a farewell dinner in a traditional Nepalese restaurant with cultural performances. Overnight at a hotel. Breakfast and farewell dinner included.
